Paleo Week 1 – Day 4 l Jeri’s Corner: Fitness and Food

Eating Paleo

Today was a tough one.  Not only did we have McDonald’s, as I had already suspected, but someone also brought in Starbucks Coffee Cakes.  I walked in the office knowing exactly where they were and made it a point to stay away from the table … until I had to pick up some paperwork off of the printer.  Definitely having a big breakfast saved me because I was not interested.  Then I started to think about how much I would have eaten if I were able to.  I just said to myself, “This food isn’t going anywhere. It will still be around in 3 months, if you still want to eat it”.  I truly was ok and able to push it out of my mind and stay committed.  It is only the 4th day in and its too soon to give up now!  I have several more Fridays to go!


The workout today was 3 rounds for time:

  • 10 Thrusters, 75lb
  • 12 Deadlifts, 1/2 my body weight
  • 21 Box Jumps, 20″ box

As an added bonus after this, I did burpees for 7 minutes! Yeah.  Exhausted and Satisfied…That’s all for today!
