Gourmet Dog Treat Recipes

Gourmet Dog Treats can be so much fun to create.  You do not have to use standard ice trays if you do not have 4oz. cups.  Looking for new ice pop designs, I came across a couple of sites, Crooked Brains  and Cool Stuff Express, that offer some great ideas for unique ice trays that can be used to dazzle your ice pop creations.  The point is too have some fun!

Are you going to a dog party or having a dog party?  Looking for dog treats to serve at the party?  How about serving up a healthy dog treat that you would not normally have at a dog party, gourmet ice pops!  What a great way to cool down your guests after hours of playing.  Give this recipe a try.

Strawberry Mint Gourmet Ice Pops – Ice Cream for Dogs

  • 7 Large Organic Strawberries
  • 1 Cup Coconut Water
  • 7 Mint Leaves

Combine all the ingredients into the blender and liquify.  Pour the finished product into your 4oz. cups or fancy ice trays and freeze.  Quick, easy and healthy.

Strawberry Mint Ice Pop – Dog Treat

Strawberries and most red fruit act as an anti – inflammatory for dog with joint problems such as, arthritis.  They are also an antioxidant.  Fresh mint helps to combat bad breath.  Certainly a great combination for an ice pop.

ShorTee Pops l Gourmet Dog Treat Recipes

Homemade dog treats are an aromatic, chilled, fruity delight.  Purchasing frozen dog ice cream is not an option when it can be made fresh with all organic ingredients, a blender and ice trays.

Ice Cream For Dogs:  ShorTee Pops

 Grocery List:

  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • ½ banana
  • ½ tablespoon chunky peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon flaxseed meal


Add all the items from the grocery list into the blender.  Blend until smooth.  Pour into 4oz cups or substitute the cups for ice cube trays.

Once frozen, these can go put into a freezer safe container.  These can be stored in the freezer for up to two months.


Bananas are packed with amino acids, electrolytes, vitamins B6 and C, fiber and much more.  A great treat to provide energy.

Peanut Butter is digestible and is loaded with protein, healthy fats and essential vitamins and minerals.

Flaxseed is packed with Omega 3 that can to prevent dry skin, shedding and hot spots.  It is also useful in reducing inflammation due to arthritis.

Yogurt, plain only, provides a good source of calcium, protein, potassium and magnesium.
